Supermarket staff lend their support
Staff at Asda in Long Eaton have raised £200 for Treetops Hospice from dress down days and collections.
They are one of 12 Asda stores in the UK piloting a scheme where they feature a Community Life Board in store, which features information about local community projects, charities and store fundraising. The project is run in Long Eaton by Community Life Champion Sam Bliss.
As part of the scheme, shoppers are being asked to choose which local charity benefits from a £200 donation every 2 months. People can fill out a form in store or online nominating charities, schools or community projects and the 3 with the most nominations are allocated a box on the Community Life Board. Shoppers are then given a token which they place in the box for the cause they would like to vote for. At the end of the 2 months the cause with the most tokens receives a £200 donation.
Please vote for Treetops on the Asda website by clicking here or pick up a form next time you’re doing your shopping.
