SURGERY HELPS HOSPICE

09:30 - 11 February 2008

Workers at a doctors' surgery in Derbyshire have raised £150 for a hospice.

The collection, held at the Park Medical Practice in Borrowash, was organised by Sonia Meakin, whose mother Pat Hames is a patient at Treetops Hospice in Risley.

She said: "My mum receives the best care and support possible through Treetops.

"Without their continuing support for my mum and our family, the difficult time we are going through would be much harder to deal with."

Kate Shaw, from Treetops, said that Pat is a very popular guest at the Day Centre and really appreciates what the family is doing to help with fund-raising.

The Ripple Appeal is trying to raise £2m for a much-needed new Care Centre.
