HOW TO SAVE MONEY AND HELP A HOSPICE AS WELL 09:30 - 07 February 2008 Savers can help raise vital funds for a local hospice - thanks to a special new account from Derbyshire Building Society.The Treetops Community Saver Account will enable people to play their part in raising funds for the Risley hospice.Treetops will benefit from a special payment from the Derbyshire equivalent to one per cent of the balance in their account.This means that for every £100 held in the account for one year, the Derbyshire will pay £1 to the hospice.Treetops Hospice provides services to help people with life-limiting illnesses, such as cancer and multiple sclerosis, achieve the best quality of life possible.Derbyshire Building Society's Jill Speake said: " The more people save, the more funding the hospice will receive to help support it and the fantastic work it does for the local community."Kate Shaw, of Treetops Hospice, said that she was delighted. "This could really have a positive effect on our fund-raising".
