A CRICKET match which pitted police officers against members of the county's Safer Neighbourhood Team has
raised more than £200 for a Derbyshire hospice.
The game, at Risley Cricket Ground, attracted a good crowd and raised about £237.
The police team, led by PC Chris Gray, enjoyed a comfortable victory over the Safer Neighbourhood team, led by PC Jake
Warwick, by 80 runs.
PC Gray who organised the match on July 6, said: “We would like to thank everybody that participated and helped with
the charity cricket event, especially the local companies that gave raffle prizes towards The Treetops Hospice Ripple Appeal”.
Lily Peperell, Ripple Appeal Fundraiser said “It was good to see the local constabulary having fun and raising money
for a good charity at the same time”.
