RUNNERS POUND STREETS TO RAISE POUNDS FOR HOSPICE
07:30 - 18 September 2008
A team of 30 runners representing a Derbyshire hospice successfully
negotiated their way round the Robin Hood half-marathon on Sunday.
The runners, from Treetops Hospice in Risley, teamed up with Long Eaton Dawnbreakers
Rotary Group for the race.
Two gazebos were put up by the group and free massages, cold drinks and a
place to rest were offered to all the runners.
The runners were raising cash for the hospice's Ripple Appeal, which is trying
to raise £2m for a much-needed care centre at the hospice.
Anyone interested in joining Ripple Appeal team next year are asked to contact
either Kate Shaw or Lily Peperell on 0115 939 4551 or 07904 618350.
