A DERBYSHIRE couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary by donating gifts totalling £730 from friends
and family to the Treetops Hospice Ripple Appeal.
Elizabeth and Ian Clark, of Ferrers Way, Allestree, decided to donate the gifts as Mrs Clark volunteers at the Treetops
shop in Allestree.
She said: "Everyone at Treetops Hospice are doing such a wonderful caring job.
"We are so grateful to our friends and family who have generously donated money to the Ripple Appeal, to help build new
extension."
Risley-based Treetops provides specialist palliative care to adults with life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, multiple
sclerosis and motor neurone disease.
Kate Shaw, Ripple Appeal manager, said "We are so grateful to Mr and Mrs Clark for thinking of Treetops whilst celebrating
their golden wedding anniversary and wish them a very happy celebration."
The Ripple Appeal has launched its final challenge and £300,000 is still needed to enable Treetops to build a new extension.
