A MOTHER-OF-TWO has leapt from 13,000 feet to raise £800 for a Derbyshire hospice that helped her own mum.
Jenny Anderton, from Borrowash, took part in a tandem parachute jump at Langar Airfield, Notts, on Saturday.
The 37-year-old, of Gordon Road, wanted to raise money for Treetops Hospice in Risley.
Treetops helped Mrs Anderton's mother Janet Edwards, who died more than four years ago from Motor Neurone Disease.
The money raised so far will go towards Treetops' Ripple Appeal, which is building an extension at its home so that it
can provide palliative care for more visitors.
Mrs Anderton, who took part in the first of 28 tandem skydives on the day, said: "It was an indescribable feeling and I
would recommend it to anyone brave enough.
"The worst part was hanging out of the plane waiting to jump."
Her son, James, eight, goes to Ashbrook Junior School and daughter, Sophie, three, attends Ridings Playgroup in Ockbrook.
