DERBYSHIRE hospice enlisted the help of Nottingham Rugby team
to help recruit runners for the Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running.
Crowds were drawn by
the players, treadmills and a surf board simulator at the event which was organised by Risley-based Treetops Hospice.
The charity is urging people to sign up for either the fun run, half or full marathon to show support for Treetops.
The charity is still looking to recruit runners for the Robin Hood Festival, on September 13.
Treetops provides palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses such as motor neurone disease and end-stage
cancer.
Its Ripple Appeal is £300,000 short of its £1m target to build an extension
to its facility in Risley.
Kate Shaw and Lily Grant, of the Ripple Appeal Team, said: "It
was such a fun day and it was fantastic to have the support of the Victoria Centre, the Nottingham Rugby Club, John Lewis,
Heart FM and Hoofers Health Club.
"We managed to recruit many more runners, who will help
us to achieve the £300,000 we have left to raise for the new day care centre."
