INNER WHEEL LADIES GIVE SHOT IN ARM FOR HOSPICE'S APPEAL

MEMBERS of the Inner Wheel Club of Long Eaton have presented a cheque for £1,250 to the Treetops Hospice Ripple Appeal.

During President Carol Bridgwater's year of fund-raising, the ladies of the club have held several events such as a safari supper and a joint evening of wine tasting with the Rotary Club of Long Eaton.

Mrs Bridgwater said: "We are happy to support the Ripple Appeal as we realise that the new day care centre is urgently needed."

Its Ripple Appeal is on the last leg of raising £1m for a new extension at its Risley site.

Kate Shaw and Lily Grant, from Treetops, said: "The Inner Wheel Club of Long Eaton has been so supportive to us over the past year and we are extremely grateful for the members' financial support."
