We
are planning our Grand Christmas Raffle to be drawn at the Christmas Coffee Morning on Saturday 22 November. We have a large
hamper, which we would like to include among this year’s prizes. However, it’s currently empty and we need things
to fill it! Could you help? All donations will be gratefully received — just check
the ’use-by dates’ so that the contents last until Christmas.
CREAM TEA
The sun did shine for the Cream Tea, and the Sandiacre Male Voice Choir was much enjoyed as everyone tucked into home-made
scones, jam, cream and strawberries. A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped, in quite a hectic few hours!
DINE WITH WI CALENDAR GIRL
Have you booked your place for the Dinner With Tricia Stewart? The inspiration behind the Calendar Girls (played by
Helen Mirren in the film) is our guest speaker on 17 March 2009 at the Novotel (M1 Junction 25). This will be an evening function,
7 pm for 7.30 pm, which we hope will enable people who work to join us. Tickets will be £27.50, and we are asking for a £10
non-refundable deposit with the balance being paid by mid February 2009. So book your place now, before we advertise it to
the general public, and make sure of your place to listen to this very inspirational speaker.
