27 OCTOBER 2009
MORE than £2,000 was raised for a hospice's
funds from an event featuring The Apprentice contestant Howard Ebison.
You're Hired
or Fired, at Bluu Bar and Brasserie, in the Lace Market, Nottingham, was held in aid of Treetops Hospice's Ripple Appeal.
The hospice, in Risley, is aiming to raise £1m to build a day-care centre for people with life-limiting
diseases.
Mr Ebison helped sell raffle tickets, chatted with guests and auctioned items
on October 14.
He said: "The Treetops appeal is such a fantastic project, raising money to
extend their building so they can offer more support to more patients.
"No-one knows when they'll need to use a hospice, but the unfortunate
reality is that there is a large chance we all may encounter one at some point."
Money
was raised from a raffle and auction.
