FREEMASONS from Derbyshire have presented a cheque for
£1,000 to a Risley hospice.
The men, from the Provisional Charity of Derbyshire, donated
the money to Treetops Hospice to put towards its Ripple Appeal, which is raising funds for a new day care centre.
Peter Salt, the Master of the Freemasons, said: "We were delighted to see that building work had started and
being able to see how our contribution from the last few years is being put to use.
"We look
forward to seeing the new build completed in 2010."
Kate Shaw, Ripple Appeal manager, said:
"I was delighted to be able to show the Freemasons the work that has started at the hospice.
"Their annual support is so very much appreciated and their commitment
to the appeal has been significant."
The new care centre will double the capacity at the
hospice.
The charity provides specialist palliative care to people with life-limiting illnesses
such as end-stage cancer and multiple sclerosis.
