Treetops Hospice
recognises the importance of being a carer. It is a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week commitment, and at times can be stressful.
Treetops believes it is important to offer support to the whole family and one way in which we can do this is to run a Carers’
Support Group.
The Support Group meets at Treetops on the first and third Wednesday of each month, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It is organised by volunteers, with
support from paid staff and aims to provide:
·
Time for yourself away from the worries of caring
·
Social interaction and support
·
Companionship
·
Practical support
·
Information and advice
·
A quarterly newsletter
If you would like to attend the meetings but are
concerned about leaving the person who you care for, we may be able to arrange for a nurse or volunteer home sitter to stay
with them whilst you attend the Group. We may also be able to arrange transport for you to and from Treetops if needed.

How else can I be
supported as a Carer?
Twice a year Treetops Hospice facilitates a Carers
Day, usually on a Saturday, from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. Carers can come along and socialise, discuss their issues with each
other and get support from quallified staff and volunteers. There is also an opportunity to have an aromatherapy massage or
Reiki session. Lunch is provided and there is a minimal charge.
You can access our Complementary Therapy service
or if you want to talk through care issues you can book some individual talking time with a member of the care team at any
time.
To arrange this you need to contact the Hospice
