CARERS’ SUPPORT GROUP
Treetops Hospice recognises the importance of being a carer. It is a 24-7 commitment, and at times can be stressful. Treetops believe it is important to offer support to the whole family and one way in which we do this is through a carers’ support group.
The support group is for anyone caring for someone with a life-limiting illness, not just those with a link to Treetops. The group meet at Treetops in Risley on the first and third Wednesday of each month, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. It is organised by volunteers, with support from paid staff and aims to provide:
Time for a carer away from the worries of caring
- Social interaction and support
- Companionship
- Practical support
- Information and advice
- A quarterly newsletter
If a carer is concerned about leaving the person they care for to attend the group, we may be able to arrange for a nurse or volunteer to stay with them. We may also be able to arrange transport to and from Treetops if required.
To enquire about joining the carers support group, contact Treetops Hospice on 0115 949 1264.
Carers can also access our complementary therapy service. You can find more information about this by clicking here.
