TREETOPS DAY CARE
The Day Care centre in Risley provides free physical, psychological, emotional, social and intellectual care to people who have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and have palliative care needs.
Day Care provides:
- A safe and secure environment
- Clinical assessment and surveillance
- Peer support
- Nutrition
- Creative/complementary therapies
- Respite from home
- Respite and support for carers
How it works
The Day Care service is for people aged 18 or over, with a life-limiting illness, and who live in southern Derbyshire or the Nottingham borders. We accept referrals directly or through a carer, district nurse or GP.
Once a referral is made, our Day Care unit manager or qualified nurse will arrange for a visit at home to assess individual needs and introduce Treetops Hospice, before inviting that person to be one of our Day Care guests. We have a team of volunteer drivers who bring people to Day Care and take them home afterwards. Alternatively, someone might choose to drive themselves or have a carer bring them and then pick them up.
