HOSPICE AT HOME

Hospice at Home service at Treetops Hospice

Caring for someone at home is a full time job with very little time off. It can be particularly difficult if the person has a life-limiting illness as this puts an ever-increasing physical and emotional strain on families and carers.

Hospice at Home has been developed especially for those who wish the care to continue at home wherever possible. We have a team of qualified nurses and experienced health care assistants who are available to give carers a much needed break when they need it.

The amount and type of support provided will depend on individual needs. It may be just a few hours during the day to allow a carer to have their hair done, go shopping or visit friends. We can also offer support overnight to give carers the chance to have a good night’s sleep. The amount of help provided can be adjusted as your needs change.

To enquire about accessing Hospice at Home, speak to your carer, district nurse or GP. Alternatively, contact the Hospice at Home team on 0115 949 6940.

What two carers say about Hospice at Home

‘You have no idea how a wave of relief swept over me when I learnt that I was able to get a good nights sleep and that my mother was in good caring hands. You really do provide a wonderful service.’

‘The quality of the last few weeks of life that my mother enjoyed was due in no small measure to all that you did, always in a respectful, kind and loving manner.’
