Derby city centre’s Elements Tea and Coffee House is one of the first local businesses to sign up to the annual Tea for Treetops campaign to raise money for Derby’s adult hospice.

Elements, on Victoria Street, is run by husband and wife team Pete and Stephanie Marris. The Tea House opened late last year and specialises in loose-leaf teas and artisan coffee. They plan to donate 10% of all breakfast tea sold during the month of June, as Stephanie explained more:

It’s a perfect match

“The entire Elements team is really passionate about supporting the local community and charity groups, so we jumped at the chance to take part in Tea for Treetops.

“A tea party is a perfect way for us to raise money, as we love tea! It’s a perfect match.

“During June, any of our customers who purchase a breakfast tea will be directly supporting the hospice. We will also be putting together a beautiful tea hamper full of goodies to be raffled off to our tea-loving customers.”

Hold a traditional tea party, a fes-tea-val or even a ‘G and Tea’ evening

Claire Baxter, Treetops community fundraiser lead said:

“Throughout the month of June, we’re asking local people, schools and businesses to host their friends and family and support their local hospice.

“You can hold a traditional tea party, a fes-tea-val or even a ‘G and Tea’ evening – all wonderful social, summertime events and raise money for a really great cause at the same time.

“Last year, Tea for Treetops parties raised over £3600 for the hospice which helps us to continue to provide care for local people – including our bereavement service for families and nursing care for patients at the end of life at home.”
