Hi, I'm Cheryl Webster and I manage the volunteer services for Treetops Hospice. Volunteers are an integral part of
our organisation and I view my role as being a bit of a 'matchmaker' - matching volunteers and their various skills to the
needs of the different departments. The gift of your time can help us to continue to care and to continue to raise the funds
we need to deliver our services. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please see opposite for our current vacancies.

Treetops has 450 volunteers all of whom generously donate their time to every area of the Hospice including
care services, retail, fundraising and administration. Their donated time saves the Hospice over £750,000 per year in salary costs.
Why use volunteers?
Volunteers from the local community enhance
the quality of care we can give and their contribution is very much valued by patients, carers and staff. As well as this, volunteers also help us to raise the funds we need to be able to continue our work so that
we can make the most of the generosity of our supporters. Volunteers
are very much part of the whole team with a common aim of providing high quality services.
What skills or qualifications do I need? · You need to
have a genuine interest in being involved with people of all ages and backgrounds, and an openness to their differences
and individual needs. · Some volunteer roles need qualifications such
as a driving licence. ·
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. We have no upper age limit.
What’s in it for me? You can enjoy being part of a thriving,
friendly organisation where you will meet new people and have the satisfaction of knowing that your contribution counts. You
will be invited to social events at various times of the year. You will be paid travelling expenses
and insured whilst you are on Hospice duties. You will also get free, relevant training (see opposite) to ensure you can carry out your volunteer duties effectively and safely.
How much time do I need to give? You can give a couple of hours occasionally or a few hours a week, depending on when you are
available and what tasks you want to do.
What do volunteers do?Volunteers help in the hospice, in our shops and with fundraising
activities and events and in our administration department. Some of the roles are: ·
