HOW TO VOLUNTEER

What’s in it for me when I volunteer?
Volunteers are very much part of the whole team with a common aim of providing high quality services. You can enjoy being part of a thriving, friendly organisation where you will meet new people and have the satisfaction of knowing that what you do counts. As a volunteer you will receive invitations to special social events throughout the year. While on hospice duties you will be insured and paid travelling expenses. Every volunteer receives free, relevant training to ensure you can carry out your volunteer duties effectively and safely.

What skills or qualifications do I need?
The most important qualification is to be interested and involved with people of all ages and backgrounds. You must also have an openness to their differences and individual needs. Some volunteer roles will need extra qualifications such as a driving licence. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old but we have no upper age limit.

How much time do I need to give?
You can give a couple of hours occasionally or a few hours a week, depending on when you are available and what you want to do
