Treetops Hospice Care’s bridal boutique has been so busy since the start of the year, that they are appealing for more donations of wedding dresses for their brides to be.

The shop based at Bramcote Lane, Wollaton has been running for over five years and sells a variety of styles and sizes of wedding dresses at affordable prices.

We now need more donations!

But the shop’s popularity has led to a shortage of pre-loved dresses as shop manager, Jess Burchell, explained:

“It’s wonderful to be able to offer brides a range of dresses and accessories to choose from. We have so many happy customers and it’s lovely to think we’ve played a part in their special day.

“We have a brilliant volunteer, Alison, who had a career in bridal fashion prior to her retirement, and she looks after each customer individually and makes sure they receive the very best service.

“We now need more donations! Dresses in all sizes and styles welcomed – but particularly sizes 14-20. All donations can be brought to us at the shop.”

The bridal boutique is one of several charity shops run by Treetops Hospice Care across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Treetops provides nursing care and emotional support for adults with life limiting conditions such as cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis.

Every bride wants an ‘experience’ when choosing a dress

Clair Attwood, 45yrs, from Sandiacre booked an appointment at the shop to try on dresses in the run up to her wedding last year:

“I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect and I think every bride wants an ‘experience’ when choosing a dress and to my surprise that is exactly what I got.

“I was truly shocked at the variety and quality of the dresses in stock.  Not all are preloved – some are donated stock from bridal boutiques and still had the labels attached.  One dress I tried on retailed as £1,600 but was for sale at £200!

The whole experience was wonderful and far exceeded my expectations

“The fitting area is the same as any other good bridal shop with full length mirrors, accessories, shoes and veils to try.  Alison was amazing – so kind and professional – and they even offer contact for an alteration service!

“The whole experience was wonderful and far exceeded my expectations.  I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending going there to any bride looking for a beautiful dress for their big day.”

Donations of wedding dresses can be dropped off at the shop at 158a Bramcote Lane, Wollaton, NG8 2QP  – Monday to Saturday, 9am – 4.45pm.
