The donation will be used to renovate the hospice’s new Wellbeing Space which hosts a weekly drop in cafe for anyone with a life-limiting illness or bereaved, and their family, carers and friends. Visitors to the cafe can chat informally to Treetops staff and volunteers whilst enjoying cake, tea and coffee, or a lunch menu. Other Wellbeing Services include a Men’s Group, an eight-week Wellbeing programme, a Joy of Singing group and a Knit and Natter group.
A really good cause
Will Parker, sales director for Decorating Warehouse in Stapleford, presented the paint to Treetops and said:
“It’s a really good cause and it’s extremely important to support the charity as you never know when any of us are going to need something like this for relatives or friends. Treetops is a local charity just down the road so we like to help where we can.”
Sincere thanks
Cheryl Webster, support services manager said:
“We want to say a sincere thanks to Decorating Warehouse for supporting us with the paint and equipment. The newly-decorated walls will make the Wellbeing Space feel more light and welcoming for all our patients, visitors, staff and volunteers to enjoy.”
Treetops services include Support and Information, Wellbeing Space, Hospice at Home nurses and Therapeutic Services including counselling, art therapy and complementary therapy. The charity has to raise over £3m each year – over £7,500 a day – to provide its services for free.
