Derby County Scholars support Colour Rush

Kicking footballs loaded with coloured powder paint, the Derby County Football Club Academy scholars took a break from their regular training to help promote the Treetops Colour Rush which takes place this Sunday 16 July at Markeaton Park.

Derby County Schloars get colour shower by coachesThe rising stars showed off their talents in a short video to promote the sponsored 3km event which raises money for local charity Treetops Hospice Care.

Treetops provides nursing care and emotional support for adults and their families in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

A brilliant day

Mary Rose, senior community and events fundraiser, thanked the team for being such good sports and said:

“We now have close to 600 adults, children and families registered to take part on the Colour Rush this Sunday which is going to be a brilliant day.

“As well as the Colour Rush – which people can still sign up for on the day – there’s loads for people to enjoy at the Family Fun Day including live music, fairground rides, bouncy castles and stalls. Everyone is welcome!”

Treetops Hospice Care services include Support and Information, a Day Care unit, Hospice at Home nurses and Therapeutic Services including counselling, art therapy and complementary therapy.

The Family Fun Day runs from 11am to 4pm at Markeaton Park. The Colour Rush starts at 1pm.

Colour Rush tickets can be purchased on the day:

  • Adults (age 16+) £25
  • Children (age under 16) £15
  • Groups (2 adults & 2 children) £60

Children (under 16s) must be accompanied by an adult who is taking part in the event.
