Derbyshire Army Cadet Force are tackling a walking fundraiser to raise funds for two Derbyshire hospices including Treetops Hospice Care.

Following the cancellation of the Crich Memorial Pilgrimage, as a consequence of the Covid 19 situation, adult volunteers and cadets across Derbyshire will, instead, be counting their steps and undertaking other challenges throughout the day to raise vital funds for Treetops Hospice Care and Ashgate Hospicecare, both based in Derbyshire.

Cadets and adult volunteers will have their activities recorded on their smart devices or verified by an appropriate adult and information about their achievements will be available after the event.

Hospices have been heavily impacted by the Covid 19 pandemic and the Army Cadets have taken to online training and activities that can be carried out remotely in order to keep their cadets engaged and to continue to deliver throughout the lockdown situation.

For more information about joining or working with the Army Cadets visit www.armycadets.com or contact Derbyshire Army Cadet Force HQ on 01332  772025.
