This Sunday 24 September, Treetops Hospice Care is welcoming all manner of dogs, great and small, to their popular annual Dog Show and Vintage Fair.

The Dog Show is part of a wider programme of events running from 10am to 4pm including vintage stalls, live music, classic cars and vintage buses, fairground rides, army tanks, and food and drink.

Treetops provides nursing care and emotional support for adults and their families in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

A lovely event

Mary Rose, senior community and events fundraiser, urged dogs and their owners to arrive early to enjoy the full day and register their dog into one or more categories:

“Every year, over a hundred dogs are entered into the Dog Show which is simply a lovely event.

“It’s Treetops charity-equivalent of Crufts with local judges. Dogs can be entered into as many of the categories as they want at £2 per entry – it can get very competitive.

“Make sure you’ve registered into your category by 11.45am – we have categories such as Golden Oldies for dogs aged 7years and above, best young handler, best rescue dog and many more!”

Dog Show categories include:

  • Golden Oldies (7yrs +)
  • Dog with the waggiest tail
  • Best Rescue dog or bitch
  • Best Young Handler
  • Prettiest Bitch
  • Most Handsome Dog
  • Cutest Puppy (under 12 months)
  • Best mixed breed
  • Dog the judge would most like to take home
  • Happy Families (2 or more dogs living in the same home)
  • Fancy dress
  • Best in Show (1st & 2nd Place)
