Treetops Hospice Care have been chosen as the charity partner for the forthcoming Miss Genting Derby competition that sees one of the ten finalists take a step further to winning Miss England.

All competitors are asked to fundraise for worthwhile causes with half the proceeds going towards the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ Foundation and the other half being donated to a local charity.

Treetops Hospice Care provides nursing care and emotional support for adults, their families and carers across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire free of charge.

Genting Club Riverlights has been a Treetops Business Club member for two years and was keen to find ways in which to support the local charity.

Money raised is going towards such a worthy cause

Jackie Gomes, general manager at Genting Club Riverlights explained more:

“We are delighted to host the first ever Miss Genting Derby contest and look forward to welcoming lots of women from across the region to the casino in the hope of finding someone to represent our home city of Derby in the Miss England finals later this year.

“The competition includes an element of fundraising so it made complete sense for us to nominate Treetops as one of the recipient charities. The money raised is going towards such a worthy cause.”

“It’s fantastic to be involved with this event and I’m eager to see just how well the contestants have done with their fundraising efforts. It’s going to be a great evening!”

The contest is being held at Genting Club Riverlights on Thursday 9 March at 7.30pm. The current Miss Derbyshire winner, Jade Willis, will be crowning the winner.
