Treetops Hospice Care was delighted to receive a donation of £5,000 from commercial printer, Mercia Image Print, following the success of their ’30 Days of Giving’ campaign.

The fundraising campaign was launched by Mercia’s managing director, Amanda Strong, to celebrate their 30 years in business, and to recognise their significant support for local charities during this time. Amanda brought the local business community together to raise just over £30,000 during the month of June to donate to 30 charities, including Treetops.

Treetops Hospice Care provides nursing care and emotional support for anyone affected by a life-limiting illness or bereavement in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. Services are provided free of charge and last year, the charity supported over 1,800 people and their families.

Great supporters of the hospice for many years

The hospice has a long-standing relationship with Mercia Image Print as Laura McWha, Treetops corporate partnership fundraiser explained:

“We would really like to thank Amanda for choosing Treetops as one of the recipient charities of the ’30 Days of Giving’ campaign.

“We are delighted to receive the donation of £5,000 from the project which will go back into continuing to delivering free care and support for local people.

“Mercia Image Print have been great supporters of the hospice for many years so we were thrilled to be able to work together on this. Amanda’s commitment to raising vital funds for the local charities encouraged many other businesses to get involved in many different ways.

“Each recipient charity was asked to organise an event and we ran a Gin Tasting Evening.  It was a huge success thanks to the support and generosity from Helen Vann from penta Hotel who hosted the event and Greg Kimber from Nelsons Gin School.“

An amazingly supportive business community

Amanda Strong said:

“I am thrilled that we have raised so much money for such amazing charities.  The support that my fellow businesses have shown to this initiative has been fantastic!

“Derby really does have an amazingly supportive business community and I am so proud that Mercia Image Print has been part of this for 30 years and continues to be for many years to come.”

Treetops services include Support and Information, Wellbeing Space, Hospice at Home nurses and Therapeutic Services including counselling, art therapy and complementary therapy.
