Local Kia dealership, NK Motors, held a 5K charity run followed by a family fun day in order to raise money and support its local charity partner, Treetop Hospice Care.

The NK Motors charity run, dubbed the NK-5K, started and finished at the Harrington Arms in Sawley, which was also where the family fun day took place afterwards.

The turnout was great, with lots of people taking part in the race including young children, dog walkers and members of local running clubs. Local Sawley Councillor, Mr Kewal Athwal, attended to support the event and opened the race for everyone.

Treetops Hospice Care joined the dealership on the day and set up a stall with a hook-a-duck activity for the children to enjoy. There was also a BBQ and live singer, Lady Rose playing at the Harrington Arms after the race had finished.

Treetops Hospice Care provides support for people with life limiting  illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis, as well as their carers and families. The hospice needs to raise more than £3 million each year in order to keep providing support and care with around 70% coming from charitable donations and fundraising events such as the NK-5K race.

We can’t thank them enough for the funds raised
