Our patients have enjoyed exercise sessions on site at Treetops with our trained facilitators for some time. Since March, we have been unable to have patients on site, so our face-to-face sessions had to pause for a while, but we have been able to support them in a different way.
We are delighted to announce that we have been running successful sessions via Zoom since September and are wanting to build on this. Sessions are available to all patients with life limiting illnesses subject to assessment.
We are offering two different sessions:
Move It To Improve It
For those who have not been able to participate in physical activity for a while to promote independence.
Sessions take place on Wednesdays at 11am, followed by an optional guided meditation and relaxation session at 12.15pm.
Move It To Strengthen It
For those who are more independent that are looking to increase balance and strength. These more advanced sessions are quite bespoke to patients’ needs.
Sessions take place on Mondays at 11am, followed by an optional guided meditation and relaxation session at 12.15pm.
All sessions are delivered as a group or one-to-one over Zoom and our staff, Clare and Nat, will assist those who are unfamiliar with the technology to ensure that they can take part.
After each exercise session concludes there is an option to join a guided meditation and relaxation session. This session is open to all patients including some that may want to join who have not attended exercise class.
Health and safety is paramount and attendees are continually observed, assessed and asked if they are comfortable with the level of exercise the class.
