Since the Lottery’s inception in 1996 its sole purpose has been to raise money for the charity in order to help continue to provide nursing care and emotional support for anyone affected by a life-limiting illness in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. All net profits from the sale of the lottery tickets go to Treetops Hospice Care and since 1996 the lottery has raised over £6 million for the charity.

Treetops Hospice Care is a registered charity and provides support for people with illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and multiple sclerosis and end stage respiratory and heart conditions. It also supports their carers and families. All services are provided free of charge. The hospice has to raise more than £3 million every year to run. That’s about £7,500 per day. 70% of this comes from charitable donations and fundraising events.
