Treetops was delighted to welcome back its founder, Cally Cheetham, for a tour of the hospice and services.

Treetops Hospice Care, based in Risley, grew out of a campaign started by Cally in 1983, following her own experiences of caring for relatives suffering from cancer.

Chief Executive Julie Heath, and Director of Clinical Services Phil Shreeve, showed Cally around the hospice, on her first return visit since the Cheetham Centre (which houses Treetops Therapeutic Services and is named after Cally) was opened in 2014:

“It’s fabulous to come back – there’s always new developments and the gardens are always more and more spectacular.

“A really, really big thank you to everybody who joined us back when we had nothing and a very big thank you to everyone who’s carried it on. Very, very well done and good luck for the future.”

Treetops provides nursing care and emotional support for adults with life limiting conditions living in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Its services include Support and Information, Wellbeing Space, Hospice at Home nurses and Therapeutic Services including counselling, art therapy and complementary therapy.
