Lady smiling with winning Treetops lottery cheque

We were delighted to present 91-year-old Mrs Briggs from Borrowash with a Treetops Lottery winning cheque of £6,000.

On Friday 22 July, Mrs Briggs' lucky lottery number was drawn at random to win our £6,000 rollover prize!

Mrs Briggs has played the Treetops Lottery since 2011, when her daughter used to volunteer for us.

It’s the first time I’ve won anything! I play because I know how much the hospice helps the local community and I like to support that.

Help the local community

“For anyone considering joining the Treetops Lottery, I would say do it. You just might win something, and it’s nice to be able to help the local community."

Mrs Briggs has a large family with nine children and eighteen great-grandchildren. They have all been delighted to hear of her good fortune.

She plans to use some of her winnings to redecorate her home and treat herself to some new clothes.

“It was a pleasure to give Mrs Briggs the wonderful news of her windfall.

Our lottery players make such a huge difference to local patients and their families.

"It’s an honour to give something back to someone who has supported us for so long. Congratulations Mrs Briggs!”
