Remember a loved one this Christmas: Light Up a Life 2022

Over 400 loved ones are being remembered with a light this Christmas

This year, over 400 loved ones have already been remembered on our Light up a Life tree. We’ve been touched to read the messages of love and the recollections of fond memories of lives lived. Below are all the names of those already being remembered this year. We will keep our virtual tree open during the festive season, so you can still dedicate a light to your loved ones.
We understand that times are difficult this year. If you cannot make a donation but would still like to remember someone special, we would really love to see your light shining. It’s fine to set your online donation to £0. We would rather you celebrate with us than not at all.
You and your family don’t have to have received care from the hospice to be able to remember a loved one. Simply select your light on our virtual tree and you will be invited to upload a message and photo.  You can also share your light with friends and family.

Nine years ago, Fiona Hickey began the tradition of remembering her mum with a light

“Our family loved Christmas. My mum and I always decorated the tree together.

Remembering her with a light means she is still a part of it.”

How your light helps others

Your light in memory of someone special will go onto help local patients and families.  Even a small donation can make a huge difference in the lives of others.  Here are some of the ways your light will help:

£10

could pay for someone to have a cuppa and a chat at one of our drop-in sessions, giving them someone to listen

£24

helps to provide two hours of care at home allowing families like Fiona's the chance to rest and know that their relative is being looked after

£67

could help fund a home visit from one of our nurses when there is an urgent need for their care
