Local hospice Treetops is offering people the chance to write a new will, or update an existing one, during March and help the charity at the same time.

Local solicitors are donating their time and professional advice to write wills in return for a minimum donation to Treetops of £100 for a single will or £180 for mirror wills.

Treetops, based in Risley, provides emotional support and nursing care for adults with life limiting conditions, and those who’ve been bereaved, and their families, living in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

It gives peace of mind and security, not just for you, but for those you love

Laura McWha, corporate partnership fundraiser explained how important it is to have a Will:

“Have you recently experienced a significant life change such as moving house, getting married, or welcoming a new addition to the family?

“If so then one way of making sure your loved ones are taken care of in future is to have an up-to-date Will.

“Your Will is one of the most important documents you will ever sign and it ensures that your estate and possessions can be distributed as you wish. It gives peace of mind and security, not just for you, but for those you love.

Local solicitors supporting Treetops Make a Will Month include Flint Bishop, Four Seasons Future Planning and Rotheras.

Opportunity to make a donation to Treetops

Laura said:

“The solicitors supporting our Make a Will Month will draw up a standard Will (or mirror Wills) and, instead of charging their usual fee, they are giving you the opportunity to make a donation to Treetops.

“There is no obligation to leave a gift to Treetops in your Will, but once you have provided for your loved ones, any gift you leave to Treetops – no matter what size – will help to ensure patients and their loved ones are supported by Treetops for years to come.”

Those taking part are advised that if your circumstances are more complicated, the solicitor will agree any additional fees and provide you with their charges for related services.

Treetops services include Support and Information, Wellbeing Space, Hospice at Home nurses and Therapeutic Services including counselling, art therapy and complementary therapy.
