Our Advanced Communications Skill training is an experiential and learner-led 2-day CPD approved certificate course targeted towards consultants, SAS grade physicians and a multi-professional audience including GPs, allied healthcare professionals, nurses and midwives who want to enhance their communication skills to further equip with emotionally challenging situations, including:
- Cue based conversations embedding empathy
- Breaking bad news
- Discussing complex treatment plans with patients
- Talking to a distressed or angry patient or their family
- Performance managing or dealing with challenging / courageous conversations with colleagues
Limited to small numbers, the course includes discussion of direct evidence base with application to communication in practice including RealTalk, filmed role play with actors and supportive and constructive feedback in a safe environment.
This course is approved by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom for 13 category 1 (external) CPD credits
