Verification of Expected Adult Death
We are offering Verification of Expected Adult Death training here at Treetops Hospice. This session is aimed at registered practitioners who need to gain competence in verification of expected adult death.
You will gain the knowledge, understanding and practical skills to be competent to carry out verification of expected adult death. We will facilitate:
- To be able to locate the guidance relating to verification of expected adult death
- Have an awareness of the associated definitions applicable to verification of expected adult death
- Clearly define inclusion and exclusion criteria
- Demonstrate the procedure for verification of an expected adult death
- Identify key medical, nursing and legal responsibilities
- Apply the principles for correct documentation pre and post procedure
- Recognise when further information and support might be required for the bereaved
- Locate further resources and where support can be accessed
This course consists of:
- A theory session,
- A verbal question & answer assessment and
- OSCE (Observation of practice) which meets competency required.
This course will contribute 3 hours of CPD towards NMC Revalidation.

Delegates will be given a time and date for their return OSCE when attending the theory session.

The cost of the session is £98 per person (increasing to £105 from 1 April 2026).
Refreshments will be included.
All courses are held at Treetops Hospice, Derby Road, Risley, Derbyshire, DE72 3SS.
