Syringe Driver Training (Level 2)

We are offering BD BodyGuard™ T syringe driver training (Level 2) here at Treetops Hospice, for registered nurses and senior healthcare workers. The training will facilitate:

• Identify what a syringe driver is and its clinical indications for use​
• Recognise syringe driver contraindications​
• Explore common myths associated with syringe drivers and how to overcome these​
• Outline the process for syringe driver loan​
• Identifycommonly used drugs, understand compatibility and dose conversions​
• Explain the procedure for insertion of a sub cut cannula and an introduction to administering anticipatory medication ​
• Apply the correct principles for effective monitoring and documentation​
• Discuss professional, legal,and ethical considerations relating to syringe driver management​
• Locate related guidance, resources,and support​
• Demonstrate to correct procedure for drawing up medication and loading into the pump​
• Apply knowledge into practice through scenarios/case studies
• This course will contribute 3 hours of CPD towards NMC Revalidation.

The cost of the session is £70 per person.

Alternatively, the training can be run for up to 10 staff in Derbyshire care home for £400. For care homes outside of Derbyshire, costs will vary depending on travel and venues. Please get in touch with us for more information on this, so we can discuss your needs.
