Syringe Driver Awareness (Tier 1)
These Tier 1 level sessions, specifically designed for social care workers, including care home staff and domiciliary care workers.
Our training is focused on improving confidence and skills in delivering compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care. Each session is led by experienced facilitators and offers practical guidance, open discussion, and support.
Aims and objectives of the course:
- To learn what a syringe driver is
- To discuss the indications for syringe drivers in end-of-life care
- Learn the role of the health care assistants
- To explore common symptoms which are experienced at end of life, how to recognise these
- Learn what to expect when caring for a patient with a syringe driver
- Recognise when there is an issue and when to call for support
- Locate guidance, resources and where to seek support
