Recognising Dying and Symptom Management
This session is aimed at anyone working in Health and Social care environments. We will facilitate:
- Outline why recognising dying is important
- To recognise the signs of the deteriorating resident
- To recognise the signs and symptoms of a resident nearing the end of their life
- Identifysome of the possible causes for end-of-life symptoms
- To discuss management of symptoms at end of life including when anticipatory medication might be required. Apply theory into practice through case studies/scenarios
- To be able to apply the principles of the mental capacity act to practice
- Outline care after death and bereavement support
- Locate the guidance, resources,and support available relating to management of end-of-life care
- This course will contribute 3 hours of CPD.
Training dates:
Monday 11 May 2026 10am-1pm
Monday 14 September 2026 1-4pm
Tuesday 1 December 2026 1-4pm
