Mouth Care Awareness (Tier 1)

These Tier 1 level sessions, specifically designed for social care workers, including care home staff and domiciliary care workers.

Our training is focused on improving confidence and skills in delivering compassionate, high-quality end-of-life care. Each session is led by experienced facilitators and offers practical guidance, open discussion, and support.

Aims and objectives of the course:

  • To be aware of the key principles for mouth care​
  • Learn how to carry out assessment and to support people with mouth care needs​
  • Learn about common conditions which affect the mouth, management of these and when to refer for treatment​
  • To be aware of tools used to provide effective mouthcare​
  • Review a case study and develop a care plan for oral care​
  • To know where to access further support and guidance
  • This course will contribute 1.5 hours of CPD.
