Team GB athlete and business leader join Treetops Hospice as ambassadors

Treetops Hospice has welcomed Team GB skeleton athlete Freya Tarbit and local business leader Preethi Kang as new ambassadors, helping the charity reach more people across Derbyshire with its vital end-of-life care and bereavement support services.
By volunteering their time, expertise and influence, both ambassadors will play an important role in championing the work of Treetops and connecting with new audiences to ensure more people are aware of the support available through their local hospice.
Originally from Ockbrook, Derbyshire, Freya Tarbit is a Team GB skeleton bobsled athlete and Junior World Championship bronze medallist. Growing up just a few miles from Treetops, she was keen to support a local charity that makes a meaningful difference within her own community.
As part of her ambassadorial role, Freya will use her sporting experience to support young people through resilience workshops, while also helping to increase awareness of Treetops among audiences who may be less familiar with the hospice’s services.
Freya said: “The work Treetops does is absolutely incredible and they help so many people. I’m incredibly proud to be joining the team and excited to see the difference we can make together.”
Joining Freya as an ambassador is Preethi Kang, Commercial Manager at business growth company Qinesis.
With extensive experience in brand building, relationship management and driving growth, Preethi will bring valuable skills and local connections to support the hospice’s awareness and engagement activities.
Preethi has a longstanding connection with Treetops through her father, Cham Kang, who serves as a board member of the charity.
Preethi said: “I’m so proud to be an ambassador for Treetops Hospice.
“Being from the local area and having such a strong connection to the charity, I feel passionately that many more people still need to know about Treetops.
“Everyone should understand the impact they have, not only on the patients and families they support, but also across the wider community and the countless lives they touch.”
John Knight, Chief Executive at Treetops, said: “Our new ambassadors will play an important role in helping us raise awareness of the vital care and support we provide across Derbyshire.
“Freya and Preethi bring a wealth of experience, strong community connections and trusted voices that will help us expand Treetops’ reach.
“Freya’s ability to engage younger audiences, alongside Preethi’s connections within the Sikh community, will help raise awareness of our services among people who may never have encountered Treetops before.
“Their support will be instrumental as we continue to ensure that no family faces end-of-life care or bereavement alone.”
