Treetops Hospice is a leading end-of-life care charity for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. We open our arms and hearts to support thousands of local people, and their families, through the most difficult time of their lives.

Head of Retail

We’re looking for a dynamic, commercially minded Head of Retail to lead and grow our 20 shop retail operation across Derbyshire. After doing a fantastic job, our current Head of Retail is leaving work for very personal reasons. They leave you a strong foundation, so you can take ownership of the next exciting chapter. If you love retail, growth, leading people, innovating new income streams…this is a genuinely fun, varied and meaningful role. You’ll take the lead and shape our multi site operation, develop our three year retail strategy, grow online sales, and ensure our shops remain a vibrant “window to the world” for Treetops Hospice. We welcome applicants from commercial retail backgrounds as well as charity retail. Main Purpose: To lead the Human Resource and Volunteer Services Team in developing and delivering an effective and efficient service. To be integral in creating and delivering the human resource and cultural elements within the Treetops Strategic Plan. This to include all services relating to the recruitment and management of volunteers. The duties and responsibilities listed below apply as equally to volunteers as paid staff (wherever practicable). Key Responsibilities: Provide effective leadership of the People and Culture Team (HR function) To develop an HR Strategy To ensure Treetops operates within current employment legislation and best practice. Are you a friendly and pragmatic person who lives and breathes Trusts fundraising? Have you got a firm grip on all the disciplines, and do you understand the importance of building strong relationships? As part of our 5 years ‘Invest to Grow’ strategy, we have an opening to develop and grow our Trusts and Grant Making Foundations programme. We have an annual programme of compatible Trusts to approach and are looking for a Trust Fundraiser with a successful track record, to further develop proposals of our services and our capital funding appeals. In addition to the role, with your excellent writing skills and the support of our marketing team, you will be responsible for managing 2-3 fundraising appeals a year that will go out to our supporters. We can offer you flexible hours and the option to spend time working from home. We’re a friendly bunch of people to work with and, as your line manager, I’m the kind of person who’ll give you the freedom to do great things. We can’t afford huge salaries, but I’m open to talk.
